The Oahu Railway had a variety of locomotive types and configurations from all three major US builders – Baldwin, ALCO and Lima. Many of the them were relatively heavy for a narrow-gauge railroad which reflected the long trains and steep grades on Oahu. These included the outside-frame 2-8-0’s and 2-8-2’s and the three-truck Shays.
